Radio controlled trucks, or RC cars as they are commonly referred to, are a good pastime both for children and adults. Their work is based on a system of remote control. Another kind of remote control cars is wire connection trucks, but radio controlled cars have higher popularity. Radio-controlled cars are generally divided in two groups: toy model trucks designated for children and hobby-grade version that is designated for juveniles and adults.
These 2 versions of RC cars differ, but still have something in common. Both of them represent copies of real-life vehicles and are controlled through radio control. But there're a number of distinctive differences between these two versions. First of all, a toy model is a solid plastic representation of the car while the hobby-grade version is very close to a real truck in relation to outward appearance and individual parts. The hobby-grade cars are designed in the same manner like a real truck. What is more, this variant requires the same maintenance and service as if you were the owner of a normal vehicle.
There are various ways of powering hobby-grade RC trucks. They could be electric, fuel or nitro powered. Taking a decision which one to select isn't quite easy. All the models have their own pluses and minuses that should be weighed up. For example, an electrically powered RC car will be lighter that a petrol run one, but the first will be slower than the last one. Whatever the case, these trucks are so intricate, that every enthusiast can change his electric truck into a fuel run one, or vice versa, with no particular efforts.
What is so special about hobby-grade radio controlled cars that attracts attention of thousands of men of all ages to them? In general, it's their complexity. It isn't a toy, it's actually a real-life vehicle, but very small. What is more, these radio controlled trucks can be used for racing and what man would refuse to be a racer? It's much more fun than computer games, that's the reason why RC cars are so attractive to adults.
Obviously, RC trucks are a lot of fun. But still note that it will require a lot of maintenance, repair and even upgrading. So this hobby is not cheap, but it is a truly unforgettable experience.
